This roadmap outlines the major milestones and phases in the development of the PoAT (Proof of Adaptive Trust) protocol — from its foundational research to real-world deployment.

We aim to move from research and validation into open source development, partnerships, and ecosystem growth, all while remaining aligned with our mission: to make trust-driven consensus practical, accessible, and sustainable.

✅ Phase 1: Research & Design (Q1 2024 – Q2 2024)

A deep dive into the problems of existing consensus mechanisms and the foundations of PoAT.

Key Goals:

  • 🔬 Analyze PoW, PoS, and PoA limitations
  • 📄 Define PoAT's trust model, behaviors, and decay mechanics
  • ⚖️ Explore fairness, sustainability, and security trade-offs
  • ✍️ Draft white paper and research docs
  • 🧪 Validate feasibility through simulations

🚧 Phase 2: Prototype Development (Q3 2024 – Q2 2025)

Development of the first functional implementation of PoAT for a testnet.

  • 📡 Design validator selection based on trust distribution
  • 📊 Build telemetry and trust observability tools

Stable, permissionless PoAT network open for real-world deployment.
